There will be no NBC 9/11 miniseries. The network yesterday officially pulled the plug on what promised to be entertainment TV’s most important - and ambitious - look at events leading up to the attacks.
Network officials declined comment yesterday, but did not dispute a Variety story that reported the cancellation and speculated the expensive ($20 million) eight-hour mini was a casualty of NBC’s showing in a recently concluded advertising sales marketplace, known as the “upfront.”
Announced last October, NBC had secured the services of writer Graham Yost to condense “The 9/11 Commission Report” into a sweeping mini.
